New Beginnings: Live! November 13-15

NEW BEGINNINGS
IS THE JR/MID HIGH
YOUTH EVENT OF THE YEAR!

All 6th-8th graders are invited to celebrate the love of God at New Beginnings: Live, which this year is at St. Luke's, Coeur D Alene.

NB:5x5 is fun and fellowship, worship and service, community and faith formation. It is peer led and adult supervised.  Who could use this mid year faith and fellowship encounter?
Can you send this to them?

The time to register for New Beginnings is now!

We need local leaders to help get young people to and from the event.  How can you help?

Arrival time begins at 6.30pm on Friday at St. Luke's (and given our travel distances, will go until all are here).  We finish around 12 noon on Sunday, and all families of teens are invited to join us and St. Luke's for the Eucharist at 10.30am.

The registration form is on the diocesan website.  When you register you may get a response email that is from a previous event.  Please ignore any info that does not say what it says here!!

If you have any questions contact JAGober youthministries@spokanediocese.org

SPOKES: Spokane Diocese Youth Presence at Convention 2015

Episcopal congregation active Senior High teens are encouraged to apply to be a part of the SPOKES team for convention.  This is not a typical youth event or weekend.  It is service and learning about how we make our decisions and set the boundaries for our life together as the diocese of Spokane.

We will serve as pages, help with a media project, assist the voting process and bring a bit of frivolity to the occasion.

We are seeking homestay locations for out of town teens.  If you live in Spokane and can meet the safe church standards (training and participation in parish), AND can get teens to and from the Cathedral during convention..please contact youthministries@spokanediocese.org

If you have any other questions, please do the same thing.
To apply please fill out this form: https://spokanediocese.formstack.com/forms/spokes

THEME THOUGHTS FOR YOU

5X5: It is radio code for being all clear.  Sort of like the ‘can you hear me now’ commercials.  For the Buffy fans in the crew it is also something that Faith commonly utters which seems analogous with ‘cool’.  What brings the ‘all clear’ to your life and the lives of your peers? What causes the static and the not ‘all clear’??
The scripture for the event is the parable of the Good Samaritan.  Do you know it as well as you imagine?  Have you really read it?  Can you search for cool online videos of the story?  How about children’s bible versions of the parable??  What is the primary question of the parable and what is the answer??????  How does this speak to the life of young people right now??
